Derek Buchheit named Corvallis Knights Staffer of the Year

Corvallis, Ore., Thursday, November 26 – Corvallis Knights Ticketing & Facilities Manager Derek Buchheit was named the club’s 2020 Staff Member of the Year, as announced by Team President/GM Bre Miller on Thanksgiving Day.

The former intern and University of Oregon graduate shined during an unprecedented time that saw the Knights 2020 season cancelled due to COVID-19 health concerns and restrictions.

“This Thanksgiving we’re reminded of all the things we are thankful for. Our extraordinary fans, host families, players, coaches and community partners,” said Bre Miller. “But especially, this year, we are thankful for our front office staff. In a year with no baseball, we realized more than ever how fortunate we are have a tight-knit family like ours.”

“One staff member went above and beyond. Derek took this uncertain year to learn new skills, from producing videos, to graphic design, to project management. He was our go to guy during this pandemic and is well deserving of this honor.”

The Staff Member of the Year Award is one of the highest honors in the Knights organization.
