Corvallis Announces 2026 Team Awards

Thursday, August 27, Corvallis, Ore. – Corvallis announced its team awards for the 2026 season on Thursday, as voted on by the Knights coaching staff, front office, and data analytics squad.

Team MVP Ethan Porter of Oregon State had a monster summer, batting .338 with 35 RBI in 38 regular-season games. He hit .368 with 4 RBI in the playoffs to lead Corvallis to the championship game. Porter was named MVP of the WCL All-Star Game, hitting a two-run home run and knocking in the winning RBI in the 9th. The rising sophomore was named all-West Coast League second team, and the league’s co-Top Prospect.

Bryce Hill of Stanford was a dominant force over the second half of the regular season, as the incoming frosh acclimated to the college game. He was dialed in from July on, as Hill’s ERA was a minuscule 1.74 in 20.2 innings pitched across 6 regular-season starts. He clocked the fastest recorded pitch ever by a Knight at 101.7 mph. Hill was named the league’s co-Top Prospect alongside Porter, as well as honorable mention all-WCL.

Kellen Segel of Linn-Benton CC (committed to Cal Poly), a fourth year Knight, did it all for Corvallis this season. He played a solid outfield and shined as the team’s closer. In 15 regular-season relief appearances, Segel posted a 1.65 ERA, with 6 saves and 17 strikeouts, and earned first-team all-WCL honors. Kellen also led the Knights in overall stolen bases with 22.

Cooper Markham of Oregon was as dependable as they come. Joining the Knights in the second half, Markham posted a tiny 1.59 ERA in 11 relief appearances and led Corvallis in overall ERA at 1.33. He was brilliant in the post-season making three appearances and allowing only one run over 10 innings pitched while striking out 13. He blew batters away in the regular season too – striking out 29 over 17 innings pitched. Cooper was named second team all-WCL.

Joey Marasco of George Fox was a do-it-all, gritty utility man for the Knights this season. He appeared in 48 of the team’s 54 regular-season games, shining at shortstop as well as all three outfield positions. Marasco posted a fielding percentage of .965 and led Corvallis in overall runs scored with 45.

Corvallis appeared in the WCL playoffs for a 19^th consecutive season, went 38-25 overall (31-23 in WCL), captured the WCL South second-half title and won the South Division championship game, besting Ridgefield 7-2 at Goss Stadium, before closing out the summer with a tough WCL championship game loss at Wenatchee. The AppleSox posted a league best 39-13 record and captured the WCL crown by edging the Knights, 8-7.
