Corvallis Knights Unveil 2022 Roster
Monday, April 4, Corvallis, Ore. – The five-time defending West Coast League champion Corvallis Knights have assembled another talented roster of rising collegiate prospects for the upcoming 2022 season, including key returnees first baseman Kiko Romero of NJCAA #1-ranked Central Arizona College, infielder Spencer Scott of University of Portland (Grant High School), southpaw Sean Wiese of George Fox (Canby High School) and catcher Jake Leitgeb of University of Washington (Lincoln High School).
The roster also features three Oregon State ballers; homegrown Oregonians returnee right-handed pitcher Sam Stuhr (Madison High School) and newcomer rising frosh closer Ryan Brown (South Salem High School) will join exciting frosh outfield prospect Tyree King-Reed on the Corvallis Knights this summer representing the #5-ranked Beavers.
Other returnees are hard-throwing Lipscomb righty Kaleb Kantola (Central High School), sophomore outfielder Ethan Loveless of Portland, sophomore reliever Chase Walter of Cal Poly and freshman right-handed pitcher Kaden Segel of Linn-Benton CC (Grant High School).
This year’s squad also welcomes heralded prospects frosh catcher Ryan Stafford of Cal Poly, freshman infielder Zander Darby of UC Santa Barbara and sophomore starting pitcher Jesse Barron of San Francisco. Stafford is hitting .328 with 11 doubles, 2 homers and 13 RBIs this spring for the Mustangs. Darby is currently batting .284 with 5 HR and 14 RBIs for the Gauchos. Barron earned Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Freshman All-American honors in 2020.
In addition, veteran arms junior righty Roman Angelo of Fresno State and 2021 Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Year Will Clark of Pacific are set to join true freshmen hurlers Matthew Ager of UC Santa Barbara, Joey Gartrell of Portland (Canby High School) and Jaden Harris and Bradley Maylett of Utah on a Knights pitching staff that looks to be the team’s strength yet again.
The reigning Perfect Game National Summer Collegiate Team of the Year will also showcase two incoming Oregon State Beavers – right-handed pitcher Tyler Gough and local area star infielder Ely Kennel of Santiam Christian High School.

The Knights begin the 2022 season on May 26 with their annual Science, Engineering & Art Day, presented by Paventy & Brown Orthodontics, at Goss Stadium against the NW Star Nighthawks. Their WCL opener is June 3 at Yakima Valley; their WCL home opener is June 17 vs. Yakima Valley.
