Edmonton Riverhawks shut down Knights 3-1, even up series
Wednesday, July 13, Edmonton, Alberta – Corvallis couldn’t find its offense in a 3-1 loss to Edmonton in a West Coast League game at Re/Max Field.
The Knights mustered just two hits against three Riverhawks pitchers. Mason Le (CSU Northridge, pictured above) drove in their only run with a fifth-inning double; Jonah Advincula (Redlands) was the only other Knight with a base hit.
The Knights (20-12 all, 20-11 WCL, 2-3 second half) clinched their 15th consecutive postseason berth on July 7 by winning the South Division’s first-half championship by two games over Ridgefield. They will be the No. 1 seed in the South Division playoffs.
The playoffs begin on Aug. 9 with the best-of-3 opening round. Corvallis will open the home portion of the postseason with Game 2 on Aug. 10. If necessary, Game 3 will be at Goss Stadium on Aug. 11.
The series concludes at 6:05 pm on Thursday. Utah righty Cam Day (0-0, 1.80) is the probable starter for the Knights.
The Knights then visit Wenatchee on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They conclude a 10-day road trip with a makeup game at Portland on July 18.
Their next home series following the road trip is July 19-21 against Cowlitz.
