Nati’s breakout game leads Knights blowout
Thursday, June 25, Corvallis, Ore. – Designated hitter Josh Nati (Oregon State) fell a homer short of a cycle and the Knights broke out of their offensive slump with an 18-4 nonconference win over Gerding Construction on a cool, rainy night at Goss Stadium.
Nati (pictured, above) singled, doubled twice, tripled, walked once and scored four times for the Knights (13-11, 10-11 WCL). Kellen Segel (LBCC) was 2-for-3, drove in three, walked three times, stole four bases and scored three times in his first gam at second base.
Ali Silva (Loyola Marymount) reached safely in all five plate appearances and was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs. He was the Washington Park Advisors Player of the Game.
Ryan Severns (UCSB) tripled twice, singled, scored three times and drove in a pair.
Corvallis scored six times in the first, then had at least one run in each of its final six at-bats. Every Knights position player either reached base safely, scored a run or had an RBI.
Camden Hartsell (Umpqua CC) threw three innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit, with five strikeouts, and got the win. Landen Salveson (Utah) followed with three one-hit frames; he also fanned five and earned a three-inning save.
Before the game, the Knights further bolstered their pitching staff by adding Cal Poly righthander Arlo Pendleton, a 6-5, 205-pounder from Petaluma, Calif. He was 0-0 with a 3.68 ERA in 7.1 innings over seven appearances in 2026, with five strikeouts.
He was a Vine Valley League first-team all-star and a second-team all-state selection as a Petaluma High School senior. He was 9-1, 1.37 with 74 strikeouts over 56.1 innings, and earned San Francisco Chronicle Regional Player of the Year honors.
Corvallis resumes West Coast League action vs. the Marion Berries at Chemeketa CC on June 26-28. Their next home WCL series is June 30-July 2 against the Portland Pickles.
