July 6, 2026, Corvallis, Ore. – Versatile Knights’ standout Ethan Porter (pictured, above) was named the West Coast League’s Baker Tilly Player of the Week for June 29-July 5.
The rising Oregon State sophomore, who has played third base, first base and outfield this season, sparked the Knights’ three-game sweep of Springfield on July 3-5 and hit .400 (8-for-20) with 10 RBIs for the week.
The highlight was his 4-for-4, seven-RBI performance in a 16-5 victory over the Drifters on July 4. Porter had two doubles, two singles, a sacrifice fly and a walk and reached base safely in 5 of his 6 plate appearances.
He also had five walks, four runs scored, and a 1.019 OPS in the six-game period covering the Player of the Week award.
A native of Huntington Beach, Calif., Porter is hitting .344 (21-61) heading into the July 7 series opener against the Portland Pickles at Walker Stadium in Portland. He leads the team in doubles (9), RBI (16) and slugging percentage (.492).
He hit .292 (22-75) for the Beavers in 2026, with two homers and nine RBIs in 37 games. He had eight doubles, a .480 on-base percentage and a.960 OPS.
The Knights resume WCL action at Portland on July 7-9. They play at Springfield on July 10-12 and then return home on July 14 for a 6:35 p.m. nonleague matchup with Gunderson Baseball.
