Alumni Notebook, Feb. 8-15

Monday, February 16, Corvallis, Ore. – Major college baseball opened this past weekend, and many Knights alumni started their seasons off with a bang. Here are five alums who shined last week:

Thomas Ferroggiaro (2024-2025), 2B, Santa Clara
Knights fan-favorite Ferroggiaro (pictured) was scorching hot over opening weekend for the Broncos. The 2025 first-team all-West Coast League infielder reached base nine times in 14 plate appearances over three games, including a double, two stolen bases and six runs scored.

Jackson Flora (2024), RHP, UC Santa Barbara
One of the top prospects in the 2026 MLB Draft started his season in style. Flora, a 2024 alum, threw 6 innings of three-hit ball against #20 Southern Miss in a 5-1 Gauchos win. He kept the Golden Eagles lineup in check, scattering three hits and walking none while giving up no runs.

Colter McAnelly (2023), RHP, Utah
The 2025 first-team all-Big 12 selection picked up right where he left off last season, throwing 5 innings of four-hit ball in the Utes season-opening win 8-3 at Fresno State. McAnelly gave up no earned runs, struck out three and walked one.

Xavier Rios (2025), C, Cal State Northridge
Rios, a 2025 West Coast League All-Star, showed off his work in the weight room in the off-season, hitting a gargantuan home run in Friday’s season-opening 10-5 win against Seattle U. Xavier also had a hit, walk and RBI in Sunday’s sweep-capping win.

Parker Warner (2025), RHP, Stanford
Warner began the season as Stanford’s Sunday starter, and delivered a solid outing for the Cardinal against the Oregon State Beavers. Parker threw 4 strong innings against twelfth-ranked OSU in both teams’ Surprise Baseball Series finale, giving up no earned runs while striking out five with two hits and a walk. Oregon State won Sunday’s game 3-2 on a walk-off single by Warner’s Knights teammate frosh Josh Proctor.
